If you like Shopaholic books, you will like this. Similar plot line where you get very stressed out for the main character. Super funny story about a mom who finds herself involved with the Russian Mafia. Everyone agreed that it wasn't super realistic but entertaining and most enjoyed it.
Warning to anyone who is not a mom: skim the first chapter it isn't all about kids cutting hair and spilling syrup.

Book Club Rating: 2.83/5
This is a good beach / vacation read.
A story about a family. The original wife has dementia and is very out of it. The father takes a new wife. The sisters have their own drama going on. Then at the wedding, someone dies. Overall book club members wanted more twists and turns but Lucia enjoyed it and thought there were many funny moments.

Historical fiction about one of the Kennedy daughters who had a lobotomy. Book club members said kind of hard to get into, but interesting. (Lucia did not read this one.)Pictures of the Kennedy family were an added bonus

I think that sums it up

(one person skewed the rating, most loved it)
A classic book, set in North Carolina in the swamps. Part murder mystery, part love story, part love of nature. This book has it all
The beginning is a little slow and depressing but so worth it.

Everyone was falling in love, the grandmother, the mother, and the grandaughter. Generations of women on a family owned winery who could not stop falling in love. Overall meh

Book Club Rating: 3/5
Lucia's take:
It is a story about a famous author who gets in a car accident and wakes up in a farmhouse in snowy mountains of Colorado. The person who saves him is his biggest fan. Which would seem like a good thing, but it turns out to not be so. She is a little too attached to the stories he writes, also has her own mental issues.
Very thrilling, was a bit morbid but not in the way that you are scared in the dark. Overall enjoyed the read. Lets you inside the mind of a writer.
Also the type of book where you truly forget who and where you are, very much pulls you into the story.

Book Club Rating: 5/5
**WARNING: If you skip to the back and read the ending first, it ruins everything** several book club members did this and are still kicking themselves
A pschycological thriller about a murder, an artist, and a therapist. The first sentence grabs you and most people read it in 1-3 days.

Book Club Rating:4/5
Scienc-y book about genes and a genetic researcher who studies identical twins.
Most folks liked it, some pointed out that it was obvious that a man wrote this book because it was set up much like an action movie. Very much a page turner

Book Club rating : 3.8/5
A book set during the Dust Bowl/ Great Depression.
Kind of depressing but will make you thankful about your life. Everyone loves Kristin Hannah, but I think her best book is the Nightengale

Book Club rating:4,2/5
Sparks wonderful book club discussion!
Historical fiction set in Hickory, North Carolina during the Polio outbreak. You learn a lot about Polio and also southern societal laws of the time. It takes place shortly after WW2 but the war isn't the main focus. Love, death, and second chances.
Most enjoyed this book

First book club read! Lucia made the mistake of over-hyping this book because she could not stop laughing while reading. No one else was as much of a fan but people did say it was funny.
One book club member rated it negative 5 so I guess it depends on your sense of humor.
Its about these kids who light on fire when they get overstimulated. Which seems like an odd plot but is actually VERY relatable, especially if you are a parent
