And then there were four

hygge is a word you sometimes hear about this time of year, its a danish word meaning a vibe of coziness that makes a person feel content.  Its basically the feeling of sitting next to a fireplace with some hot chocolate while reading a book

There needs to be a word that

describes the feeling of being covered in baby puke in a messy house with background sound of babies harmonizing at full volume.

This is the vibe we are cultivating in the Hendrickson Household

Hello all,

Hope everyone is having a very festive wintertime.

We have had a eventful year. First moving away from Victoria. Which was tough

But also knowing that part of life is moving on, and 4 people in that small of a house would only lead to marital stress, high blood pressure, and possibly hemmoroids. So now we have relocated to a bigger house and a different area and have more room for the latest  addition

THOMAS WAYNE HENDRICKSON

Mr. Thomas Wayne was born on August 20,2022 Right on his due date. He was a perfect baby for the first two weeks. Nary a peep would he make unless he was hungry. He was such an angel that it made us rethink Avery's label as a good baby.

Brad and Lucia congratulated themselves on their good fortune of such a sweet baby.

Then after two weeks his vocal chords finished developing and he decided on a career of a vocalist. He seems to prefer the emo/punk/ screamo genre.

He was very dedicated to his art and practiced all the time.

And this from the baby that didn't cry after being born.

It was hard on the parents who had settled into the role of being a parent to a perfect angelpresh baby.

Sometimes the truth is hard to face. Lucia became very defensive if people suggested tips to help with a fussy baby.

Random person: Maybe he has colic?

Lucia:

Random Person: Is he a good baby?

Baby Thomas: *no comment, he is busy imitating a siren*

Absolutely amazing

Car rides are Thomas's favorite place to really let loose and give a performance with his whole heart, soul, vocal chords and the occasional blood vessel. He is not deterred by the lack of cheering

The first few times of screamo concerts his parents seriously considered that perhaps he was sitting on a nail they had absentmindedly left. This was not the case.

Adding to the stress placed on the B&L foundation was the sleep deprivation. Somehow you forget how bad it is to function with poor sleep.

Lucia when people ask "Do you get to sleep when he takes naps?"

Lucias outlook on motherhood after listening to elders

Needless to say, a person can only handle so much of this lifestyle. Lucia finally decided it was time to implement new parenting strategies.

Under the new leadership, Thomas was sleep trained

The one and only Baby Whisperer

Now he is 4 months old

he loves talking, demands attention, and wants things done his way

We aren't sure why Brad keeps insisting that he takes after Lucia's side of the family

Thomas's ideal schedule would be to be carried, held and talked to all day long.  We love chatting with Mr. T and even Avery has made room in her heart for him.

He still puts on the occational carseat performance, but either his vibrato is improving or we are becoming a more receptive audience.

It seems that the main thing with a new baby is time.

with time, you love them more and more

things start to normalize

and your brain has time to adjust to the fact that there are two babies now that you are a minivan mama.

So thats our latest!

We will try to get back to blogging more than once a year.

but no promises, mom life is not for wimps and sometimes you just don't have any extra energy
