Hello all

Hopefully 2023 has been a good year for you. We hope to post more this year, and aren't exactly sure what is ahead for PCP

Hello, hi yes, we would like to have a spot on the internet. We don't really know what we will write about or why we can't stop wont stop blogging but here we are.

Pondering the future of PCP
Kitchen Remodel
Something fun about moving into a new place is making it your own. When we first moved to the new house, this process started by installing a dishwasher.

Avery is always quick to help out with anything her dad is working on.
After the dishwasher was installed, Brads mom who is all things energy energy and home remodels tested out a few colors on the cabinets. Lucia tends to get kind of nervous around the painting topic, she hadn't painted anything since her 3rd grade bedroom remodel. Which was pretty terrible

So she had some painting trauma and wondered if it was the right thing to do.
But she wasn't super attached to the current situation, and had to admit that pogo an jens house was looking Fahbulous after Jen was done with all her upgrades.
so she handed over the reins and never looked back.
And people who are good at painting can just knock it out in a few evenings.

Under Jens jurisdiction, we first removed the cabinet above the counter

Later a thin wallpaper strip of butterflies and flowers was put up to separate the sections. The result was pure raw beauty
Then it was painted and just flat mind boggling what a paint job can do.

Lucia was very glad she let Jen take over. She had been like well these cabinets are fine, but after the paint job she could hardly believe they had lived in such squalor.

Lucia settling into her new identity
Feeling inspired with her new kitchen upgrades, it was decided that the next step was to get the house whipped into shape.

She started with writing lists.

Lucia showing brad one of many housecleaning lists.
He commented that she was very good at list writing but had no further compliments.
But all the lists didn't actually help. Nor did waking up earlier, decluttering, or anything else she tried. It felt hopeless

She wondered if it was mathematically possible.

Lucia's brain cells trying to figure out how to have a clean house and also manage the feeding and caretaking of two babies, a dog, and husband
If you are reading this and thinking THROW THINGS AWAY!! DOES IT SPARK JOY? READ THE MARIE KONDO BOOK!!!

Im here to tell you I have read the book, I very much agree. But throwing things away was not solving anything. and husbands have been known to burn that book after discovering many of their precious items gone

Also, according to recent headlines, even Marie Kondo doesn't know the answer anymore

The best time to actually get cleaning done is when no one needs anything from you.

But then that time is SO FINITE, so very rare

Lucia's Time During Working Hours

Tending to something that the babies need (food, love, diaper changes etc)
Alone time when both babies are sleeping
Rarest Gems of the World Ranked

4.The jewels encrusting The Holy Grail
3.Queen Cleopatras ruby necklace
2.Princess Diana's engagement ring
1.When both kids are napping at the same time
And when you do have that time, you feel like you should spend that time wisely, doing fun things not cleaning.
Lucia desperately trying achieve the balance of finding time for self care but also keeping a clean house.

Lucia tried luring the secrets out of clean people, and also asked youtube, but everyone had the same boring answer.
Put stuff away after you've used it, throw things away, etc etc
boring things.
Anyway if you too are on the cleaning struggle bus. I have no answers. Only what not to do
THINGS NOT TO DO IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A CLEAN HOUSE
1. DON'T TELL ANYONE, especially your husband about your goals of having a cleaner house/ being a cleaner person.
If you do make some changes for the better for a week or two and then backslide,
they will graciously remind you about your goals and how important it is to set goals.
2. Don't expect fast change, you can do little things like load the dishwasher at night and then empty in the morning and let that be the only change for a while, then go back to the goddess of all things (youtube) and ask her for more tips.
3. Don't question your self and your sanity if you enjoy Youtube cleaning videos. They are actually inspiring, tell you what cleaning products to buy, and do help your motivation.
4.Buy fun cleaning things, its always nice to have an excuse to spend money.
And that concludes our lecture
That is all for now, hope you enjoy!
Love, peace, happiness PCP

x= clean and tidy house
y= 4 humans under the same roof

feel free and double check the math, you will come up with the same answer
